One of the more difficult and rewarding things is to make a stand for something in life. Yet today, in this world of polling and political correctness, as well as our inherent desire to be liked, many people won’t take a stand. Those people that stand out or stood out to you in life had one particular trait in common. When it came time to make a decision and stand on an issue, they did not shy away. Even from a practical standpoint, it would be unwise to stand in the middle of the street with traffic coming from both directions. In the same mindset, there are many people that have been swept away by the crowd or found themselves in an uncomfortable situation because they would not make a choice in regards to an issue. There is an old saying that those that will not stand for something will fall for anything. Taking a stand in some cases may not be popular, but you may have the one perspective that will have a lasting positive effect on the larger crowd. You are unique and have a perspective that is based on your life experiences and do not allow the world or other people to dictate how you see things. Be bold, be courageous, be firm in your convictions, and when life presents you options, make the choice versus being overrun by the crowd. Because those that stand in the middle of the road will eventually get run over.
